Lady Green Clean in the Kitchen

washing up bottleRather than synthetic sponges we always use pure cellulose sponges or cotton compressed sponges. To help the environment why not buy a dozen or so 100% cotton dishtowels these can be washed and reused hundreds of times, which in the end is kinder to the environment and your pocket.

We recommend purchasing an eco-friendly soap for you washing-up like we do. There are a good number of vegetable-oil based liquid soaps available, these are much better as they biodegrade quickly. Here some extra ideas for when you just can't get that stubborn grime off you pots and pans.

Home-Made Washing Up Liquid

An un-perfumed bar of soap.
Grate the bar of soap into a saucepan, cover with water and boil, it will take a couple of hours for the flakes to completely dissolve, once cooled you can bottle the liquid and use it as you would a conventional washing up liquid. As this is a slightly lengthy process we suggest making more than you actually need and storing it up.

Washing Pots and Pans

1 tablespoon washing soda
1 tablespoon vegetable-oil-based liquid soap
Dissolve the ingredients in the water and leave the pots to soak.

Get TEFLON Green Clean
